Sync with a google sheet doc

Rather than needing to repeatedly download and reupload it would be cool if it could sync directly with a google doc so making changes in the google sheets doc would appear straight away in finfam. Maybe if the view is published it might be desirable to have a “sync” button in finfam to pull changes from google docs so that you don’t break the view when you’re in the middle of making changes changes. Love the app! Thanks for making it :)

Make view generation errors available in admin view

When a view generation fails, it currently sends out an email “Draft failed for …” with a specification of the error. Very useful. I would expect to find some kind of history with generation attempts and errors that were encountered in the view admin page. That way the author has some way to connect the query with the errors, and triangulate to a working version.

Make it more obvious how to improve a view

After creating a view, I ended up on https://finfam.app/esanders/views/lotto-ev. The output was clearly not what I had in mind. Tough luck, can happen. However, the view was really focused on what the re-user of a view would see. I would have expected a clear ‘edit’ button somewhere. It turns out to be available, if you first click on ‘admin’, which is hidden in a menu. It may be worthwhile surfacing this more aggressively.

After generating a view, ask user for feedback

Currently, when the user writes a question to create a view, a view is created with or without error (output via email), after which a view becomes available with some content in it. It might be useful to ask the user if this seems to do what they were aiming for. In my case, it ended up being something different from what I was hoping for. Down the line, you could then follow up with allowing them to improve it, suggest a different way to create it or even simply discard.
